The Well-Stocked Home Series

I have the final installment of the Well Stocked Home Series up on American Profile Magazine.  The last post in the series is related to how to meal plan with limited effort on your part.

I've had fun with the series!  I'm going to be starting posts for American Profile in a new direction starting next week.

  1. Hi there Sarah! I've been quietly catching up on your blog and love it! We're pretty much the same, except that I'm short, dark haired... but hey I'm super pale too! So many times my hubby would say what is wrong when I am saying Oh. My. God. at my screen...SHE USES A MANUAL ROTARY MOWER! I say... and he just rolls his eyes.. don't get me started about the post where you met Ed Begley!! I wanted to thank you for making me realize that I have the same 24 hrs that everyone else has.. I'm a business owner with hubby and was falling off the edge trying to keep everything running smoothly at home and work... But now, I get up an hour earlier, do a housechore, I do laundry differently (and hang it up) and prep meals differently... what a change! It literally changed my life and I have you to thank! I just wanted to be sure you knew what a difference you make for your readers... :)

  3. Great series Sarah!

I think that once you get into this pattern of meal planning it becomes a lot easier. For us, there are certain things that go together... like every week that we have pork chops, kale and applesauce you better believe there's going to be Pork fried rice on the menu too. Because I cook up an extra pork chop to put in the rice and toss any leftover kale in with other veggies that I have on hand too.

I have an iphone and use OurGroceries (Free app) for a running list of items I need from the store, I also toss my dinner list into Evernote (another freebie) and so I can look back on what we had 3 weeks ago, a pick a few dinners from that week when I'm not feeling as creative.

But MAYBE... I need to adopt your calendar idea... Hubby doesn't do much of the cooking in our house :(
